Guitar Chord and Scale Generator

Welcome to my guitar chord and scale generator! To see a chord or scale, select one from the drop down lists below and it will appear on the fretboard graph to the right. I have also included a guitar tuner below, if you need to tune your guitar before playing any of the scales or chords. Currently, the chords, scale, and tuner are for standard (EADGBE) tuning. I plan to add chords for alternate tunings, such as drop D and DADGAD in the future.

All scale pages contain information about musical scales and modes, and the appropriate styles and chords used with the respective scale or mode. Each scale or mode has a listing of all the keys (Ab-G), chord types, and styles that are used with that scale or mode. To navigate through the modes, use the buttons above and below (i.e. "INDEX" to return here, "PREV" to go to the previous page, "NEXT" to go to the next page, and "ABBR" to view the abbreviations used throughout the pages) or select one of the links below. The "generate" button next to each scale will show that scale on the guitar fretboard diagram located to the right.

Blues, Diminished, Dorian, Harmonic Minor, Locrian, Lydian, Major Diatonic, Major Pentatonic, Melodic Minor, Minor Pentatonic, Mixylodian, Natural Minor, Phrygian, Whole Tone, pdf version of scales (printer friendly version).
